Saturday, July 12: BAO Ozone Intercomparison

Day 4 of Pre-DiscoverAQ/FRAPPE observations. Low cloud deck in the morning, then partly cloudy after noon. NOAA TOPAZ and the NASA Goddard O3 lidar were operated simultaneously. Ozone sondes were released by NOAA GMD at 0406, 0918, and 1249 MDT; an O3 tether sonde was launched at 0805 MDT. TOPAZ data were collected from 0604 to 1404 MDT. Ozone mixing ratios were below 25 ppbv near the surface in the morning and increased to around 70 ppbv in the early afternoon.
