Tuesday, July 29: DiscoverAQ/FRAPPE Fly-Day

Day 14 of DiscoverAQ/FRAPPE. NASA P3, Falcon, and NCAR C130 flying. Partly cloudy, tstorms in the afternoon. TOPAZ data were collected from 0722 to 1512 MDT. Ozone mixing ratios increased from the 30s ppbv near the surface in the morning to about 100 ppbv in the early afternoon. Cleaner air arrived behind a tstorm outflow boundary at around 1500 MDT and ozone mixing ratios dropped to around 70 ppbv. A layer of high ozone concentrations (80s and 90s ppbv) was observed at around 1500 m AGL during the morning hours. This layer was entrained in the growing boundary layer around midday.
