This text file provides important information about the WACCM6/CESM2 simulation output files contained in the subdirectories. Author: Christopher Maloney Contact info: christopher.maloney@colorado.edu - Any file starting with BWma2000 represents a transient simulation with an interactive ocean, middle atmosphere chemistry, and is initialized with year 2000 sea surface temperatures - Any file starting with FWma2000 respesents a time slice simulation with repeating year 2000 sea surface temperatures and middle atmosphere chemistry - The total 50 year simulation is often broken up into two halves in order to produce double call variables needed for Figure 2. Any data file with 'rad_bc' contains output necessary for Figure 2. - In order to use all 50 years, simulation output needs to be concatenated (see Example 1) - All data files, except the wind files contain the years over which the simulation was run and the BC emissions that were performed. Wind file contain full 50 years. - Any files containing the text "IDL_vars" were used to produce Figure 7 and Figure S2. Example 1: FWma2000climo_default_case_fixed.cam.2000-2027.zonal.concat.nc This simulation is the time slice control case simulation for the first 27 years of the simulation. In order to get the full 50 years, one would need to concat this output file with the following file: FWma2000climo_default_case_fixed_rad_bc.cam.2028-2049.zonal.concat.nc Example 2: BWma2000_f19_g17_10Gg_BC_emiss_rad_bc.cam.2033-2049.zonal.concat.nc This simulation performs a transient, interactive ocean simulation with a 10 Gg/yr rocket BC emission for the final years of the 50 year simulation. It contains the radiative double call variables needed for Figure 2. Example 3: B10Gg_WBARSTAR_and_VBARSTAR_dyn_output.nc This file and ones with similar names contain the simulation wind fields for Figure 4
