CSL generates process- and system-level understanding by developing and applying models at fine, regional, and global scales, informed by laboratory, field, and satellite observations. The goal is to advance scientific understanding and model developments to improve weather, air quality, and climate projections and forecasts.
Process- and system-level understanding for improved weather, air quality, and climate projections. Process level developments in weather, air quality, and climate models used for research and forecasting. Use of observations collected by NOAA CSL in NOAA supported field campaigns and by satellites for evaluation and model development.
