Daily Summary:

September 18. Wednesday.
TOPAZ data were collected from about 0758 to 1708 CDT, bracketing the NASA P-3 and King Air flights. The DC8 flew over at 1507 CDT. The P3 experienced vibration in an inlet and landed early with no missed approaches. Partly cloudy all day with cirrus and fast moving low clouds most of the morning. Some clearing in the afternoon. The data plot below has many cloud artifacts. Low surface O3 (about 12 ppbv) early, increasing to 40-50 ppbv near midday. Ozone decreased again as the Gulf breeze formed. Easterly to southeasterly winds most of the day, rotating to southeasterly as the Gulf breeze developed.
