Daily Summary:

Wednesday, June 1: CABOTS IOP1
Day 4 of CABOTS IOP 1 observations. TOPAZ data were taken from 11:30 - 19:14 PDT. Very hot (40 C), moderately hazy, and Cu clouds over the Sierra crest. The boundary layer (BL) rose from 500 to 1200 m over the course of the day. BL ozone peaked around 13:00 PDT at approx. 90 ppbv, decreased by about 20 ppbv as the winds shifted from southerly to northwesterly, and rose again briefly to about 85 ppbv around 17:30 PDT. A polluted residual layer was observed until 14:00 PDT and layers of enhanced ozone and aerosol were detected between 1500 and 2800 m AGL.
