Tuesday, June 14: CABOTS IOP1
Day 17 of CABOTS IOP 1 observations. TOPAZ data were taken from 11:19 - 18:44 PDT. Severe clear with a few clouds to the north and over the mountains in the afternoon. Cooler with a high of 31C. Northwesterly winds all day exept at sunrise and relatively low aerosol; the Sierras were visible all day. A few very weak and thin elevated aerosol layers were detected above the BL, which reached about 1000 m near midday. Relatively low ozone (50-75 ppbv) from the surface to about 3 km with less than 50 ppbv concentrations above 3 km. The concentrations briefly increased to about 75 ppbv near 2000 m agl between 1600 and 1700 PDT.
