Monday, June 6: CABOTS IOP1
Day 9 of CABOTS IOP 1 observations. TOPAZ data were taken from 08:57 - 17:37 PDT. Hot (39 C), moderately hazy, a few high clouds and contrails. The boundary layer (BL) rose from 200 m to about 800 m AGL. BL ozone increased gradually from 30 ppbv to 70-75 ppbv in the afternoon. The residual layer, which extended to about 1300 m AGL, was entrained into the BL between 13:00 and 14:00 PDT. A clean low-ozone layer was observed between 1500 and 2100 m AGL, which washed out by late afternoon. In the morning, a layer with slightly enhanced ozone was observed around 3500 m AGL.
