Scientists Highlight Research at CIRES Symposium

13 April 2006

More than 20 CIRES scientists from the Chemical Sciences Division presented posters at the first all-institute symposium held at CIRES on 12 April. Presenters also included numerous scientists from other Divisions of the Earth System Research Laboratory and from the University of Colorado.

Background and Significance: A full day of poster presentations allowed CIRES scientists the opportunity to present their own work and familiarize themselves with the research occurring throughout the institute. Over half of the staff at CSD are scientists with CIRES (Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences), a NOAA Joint Institute at the University of Colorado-Boulder. The presenters of the over 100 posters ranged from students getting a first opportunity to describe their work, to scientists describing the results of multi-year efforts involving collaborators from throughout CIRES, NOAA, and other institutions.
