Karen Rosenlof appointed as Co-Chair of the SPARC Scientific Steering Group

Dr. Karen Rosenlof is a new Co-Chair of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) Stratosphere-troposphere Processes And their Role in Climate (SPARC) Scientific Steering Group. SPARC promotes and facilitates cutting-edge international research activities on how chemical and physical processes in the atmosphere interact with climate and climate change. This group provides leadership for SPARC to coordinate high-level research activities related to understanding Earth system processes. This appointment is a great tribute to Dr. Rosenlof's standing in her field. She co-led a previous SPARC activity: Water Vapour Assessment Phase II (WAVAS II).

Dr. Rosenlof's 4-year appointment begins on 1 January 2022, at the invitation of Detlef Stammer, Chair of the WCRP Joint Scientific Committee, and Michael Sparrow, Head of the WCRP.
