While on the job in Boulder, on deployment, or during telework
In the event of on the job accidents and / or injuries, this division will follow these outlined procedures for all, whether Federal or CIRES employees, contractors, postdocs, or guests of CSL. Please note that all incidents shall be reported to NOAA by the supervisor within 24 hours of the incident occurrence through NOAA SECO Accident/Incident Reporting(UMS authentication required). In the case an incident is considered serious in nature (see the definition on the reporting form) such shall be reported as soon as possible, but no later than 8 working hours of occurrence. In addition, as of 1 January 2015 OSHA requires that all employers, i.e. CSL, must report to OSHA:
All work-related fatalities within 8 hours.
All work-related inpatient hospitalizations, all amputations and all losses of an eye within 24 hours.
In case of emergency, call 911 or go to the closest urgent care facility or medical emergency room.
File a Claim to report the incident to University Risk Management within a 4 working day window. Follow incident procedure requirements for getting appropriate medical treatment to claim Workers' Compensation benefits.
