Ilana is a Research Scientist at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) at the University of Colorado Boulder, and an affiliate with the NOAA Chemical Sciences Laboratory (CSL). She re-joined the laboratory in 2024 to lead measurements of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), ethane (C2H6), nitrous oxide (N2O), carbon monoxide (CO), and ozone (O3) from various platforms, including the NOAA WP-3D, the NOAA Twin Otter, and the CSL mobile laboratory. Ilana previously worked at the laboratory via CIRES from 2009 to 2014 measuring reactive nitrogen species (NO, NO2, NOy) and ozone (O3) and deploying these instruments on the NOAA WP-3D and NASA DC-8 airborne platforms. Ilana also brings expertise in measuring reduced nitrogen (ammonia) from airborne platforms including the NSF/NCAR LAOF aircraft and the NASA DC-8 from prior research experiences.

Education
