Reporting on the State of the Climate in 2019

CSL researchers contributed to the international, peer-reviewed State of the Climate in 2019 report released online today by the American Meteorological Society (AMS). The report is the authoritative annual summary of the global climate.

Sean Davis and Karen Rosenlof authored Stratospheric Water Vapor with colleagues Dale Hurst (NOAA Global Modeling Laboratory), Holger Vömel (National Center for Atmosheric Research), and Henry Selkirk (NASA Goddard).

Owen Cooper co-authored Tropospheric ozone with Jerald Ziemke (NASA Goddard).

Amy Butler is a co-author on The 2019 southern stratospheric warming with colleagues Paul Newman, Eric Nash, and Natalya Kramarova from NASA Goddard.

The report provides a detailed update on global climate indicators, notable weather events and other data collected by environmental monitoring stations and instruments located on land, water, ice, and in space. Key findings include indications of a warming planet.
