Daily Summary:

May 20. Monday. Clear and calm. Lidar data was collected from 0926 to 1936 PDT. The preliminary TOPAZ curtain plot shows an elevated (~120 ppbv) ozone layer between 1.0 and 2.0 AGL in the morning, which slopes upward and becomes thinner near midday with a descending low ozone layer underneath. The high ozone layer slopes downward again in the afternoon. The FLEXPART and WRF-Chem models show this intrusion reaching the boundary layer well to the SW of Las Vegas. The in situ O3/CO concentrations remained near 60/130 ppbv all day.
Note: the low (purple) ozone values seen near the top of the curtain plot near midday are biased by the solar background in these preliminary analyses.
