May 23. Thursday. Clear and calm. Very hazy in the valley. Southerly winds of 10 m/s most of day. Lidar data was collected from 1010 to 1800 PDT. The preliminary TOPAZ curtain plot is similar to those for the previous two days with 60-70 ppbv of O3 in the lowest 1 km AGL and 40-60 ppbv above. These values changed little during the course of the measurements, but higher ozone was measured between 2.5 and 3 km AGL in the afternoon. The in situ O3/CO also changed only slightly from 63/132 ppbv at 0951 PDT to 70/125 ppbv at 1829 PDT.
Note: the low (purple) ozone values seen near the top of the curtain plot near midday are biased by the solar background in these preliminary analyses.
Aerosol Backscatter Data not available.
