Daily Summary:

May 28. Tuesday. Scattered Cumulus clouds between 1700 - 2000 m AGL, dissipating in the evening. Light to moderate winds with occasional strong gusts from northerly directions. Some haze in the valley, clearing out in the evening. Lidar data was collected from 0940 to 0040 PDT. The preliminary TOPAZ curtain plot shows a layer of stratospheric O3 (90-120 ppbv) above about 1.8 km AGL. Below that altitude, ozone increased from the 40s to the 70s ppbv starting at 1400 PDT, similar to what the surface O3 sensor recorded. Surface CO ranged from 112 to 118 ppbv.
Note: the low (purple) ozone values seen near the top of the curtain plot near midday are biased by the solar background in these preliminary analyses. The missing data (white stripes) above about 1500 m between 1100 and 1600 PDT are due to cloud interference.
