Daily Summary:

June 27. Thursday. Clear and warm with light winds. Peak temperatures of 75F at Angel Peak and 107F at McCarran Airport. Scattered FWC in the afternoon with upslope flow from the valley. More haze in the valley and above Angel Peak. Lidar data was collected from 1016 to 1904 PDT. The preliminary TOPAZ curtain plot shows very low ozone initially with a steady rise with a peak near midday follwed by a decline. The plot shows transport of ozone from the valley by the upslope flow with some ozone lofted above the top of the boundary layer. The in situ measurements increased from 36/84 ppbv (O3/CO) at 0920 PDT to 70/162 at 1255 PDT and peaked at 74/128 at 1450 PDT before dropping (51/100 at 1818 PDT). Most of the valley monitors peaked at about 60 ppbv while the outlying monitors reached about 45 ppbv.
