< Previous Day | Archive Calendar | Next Day >

Daily Summary:

TOPAZ data were recorded from 08:34 to 17:46 MST on this day.

Data Processing level:
TOPAZ: L2 (final, full QC)     in situ: L2 (final, full QC)

TROPOMI overpass at 13:07 MST @ 93.44 km. Ozone sonde launched @ 11:45 MDT. Today the measurements captured the advection of a large stratospheric intrusion forecast by both the RAP-Chem and RAQMS models across Boulder. After a low ozone (25-30 ppbv) morning, ozone mixing ratios in excess of 150 ppbv were observed between 6 and 8 km AGL in the later afternoon. Three filaments with about 80 ppbv of ozone descended to 2 km AGL. Some of the stratospheric ozone may have reached the ground as surface ozone increased abruptly by about 10 ppbv around 14:00 MST.
