WinterStorms 2004 General Info
The NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory Chemical Sciences Division (formerly the Aeronomy Laboratory) Pacific Sub-Tropical Jet Study investigated the transport of ozone in the vicinity of the Pacific jetstream and was performed in conjunction with the 2004 Winter Storms Reconnaissance program.

The NOAA Gulfstream G-IV completed 29 flights.
Coordinating organizations include the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL) Chemical Sciences Division (CSD) [formerly the Aeronomy Laboratory (AL)], and the NOAA Aircraft Operations Center (AOC).
This 2004 Winter Storms study and the NOAA CSD Pacific Sub-Tropical Jet Study were concurrent projects. Depending on the meteorological conditions, flights were planned to investigate storms or the Pacific jetstream. Approximately 6 of the 30 flights were specifically designed for the Pacific Sub-Tropical Jet Study.
