March - April 2008
Arctic ice-free regions of the Greenland, Norwegian, and Barents Seas
As part of POLARCAT, the focus of the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory Chemical Sciences Division's measurement component of this project was aboard the R/VKnorr ship, operated by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
Investigators in this project include researchers from numerous universities, industries, and governmental agencies.
Scientific issues to be addressed include springtime sources and transport of pollutants to the Arctic, evolution of aerosols and gases into and within the Arctic, and climate impacts of haze and ozone in the Arctic.
